Ignition problems w/my '83 245 200 1983

Hello all, this is my first post here so I am hoping y'all can help. I have a '83 245 wagon that is becoming a pain to drive. The engine cuts out and makes the entire car bucks like a bronco. I'm worried I'm going to tear up some u-joints or the rear end. Here is what I have done so far to fix it. New dist cap and rotor, new plug wires and plugs, new 02 sensor, removed and cleaned the throttle body, all the vacuum lines are good and the one that goes to the ignition unit on the passenger side fender is good. It used to only do this when the engine was turning 2000 or less on the tach, now it does it all the time. Thank goodness it's a manual transmission so I can feather it w/the clutch. I put my timing light on it and the timing advances like it should but then drops back to the idle spot even though the revs are still high. I'm thinking either the ignition box is bad or there is a short in the wireing harness that is grounding something out. The wierd thing is that when ever I replace or modify something it runs pretty well for about 10 miles than it acts up again. Like the box is compensating for a change in the system.

I have been driving/owned many 80's Volvos over the years and really like this car. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mel in VA
