What did I break and how bad is it? 200 1982

I have just owned this car 2 days and was doing what everyone suggested and trying to clean out the PCV system and intake tubes. While I was trying to remove this tube a hard plastic tube that was inserted in it broke at the connection. What did I do and how hard and or costly is it to repair? You can see the little piece that broke off in the pic.
