Fuel pump hose question 200 1990

Quick question today -

Hearing a noise from the back of the car when the fuel tank gets between 1/4 and 1/2 full. Noise goes away when fuel tank level higher. FAQ indicates likely hose between pickup and pump. Looking through some of the comments in the past, a few commented on durability / lifetime of hoses. Anyone have any experience - is the 2" of dealership hose any different from what I'll get from Napa?
