Brake options 120-130

I normally hang out on teh Yahoo 1800 group, and occasionailly on the Brickboard 850 list. Now I have a question for the 120-130 list:

I am contempating purchasing a 122 wagon to replace my recently sold ES. It's more practical, and at the moment, practicality outweighs sexy and fun. And this group (as well the 1800 goup)has such great depth of knowledge, I hope someone has an answer.

Anyay, this 122 has good old Volvo drum brakes on all 4 corners, and I'd love to improve them to disks on at least the front. The whole thing will remain mostly, if not all, Volvo, but not stock. Wheels and wheel bolt pattern don't need to stay stock. I could go with E or ES brakes, but those disks are getting a bit pricey. Does anyone know of another upgrade? Perhaps 240/740 or 960? Is an intire 240 clip swap practical? I'd like to use something that is relatively easy to obtain, and cheap.

So before I reinvent the wheel (no pun inteneded) has anyone already figured this one out?
