Power Antenna sticks in cold 200 1993

Hi all,
The power antenna on my 93 244 gets stuck in the down position in freezing temps. I can hear the motor working, but the mast seems frozen. Ive tried cleaning and lubricating it in the past, but the issue always returns in the cold. Is it time to replace the mast? Or would it be smarter to swap with an antenna thats not retractable? Im thinking maybe a shorter rubber type one. Any advice would be really appreciated!
