I am currently working on the SU HS6 carbs on both my 544's.
The "C" model throttle shafts are worn quite a bit, but I have a decent spare carb set. The throttle shafts on the spare set do have a little play, but maybe only half a MM. First question, is this small amount of play likely to cause idle problems? Also, what is the difference between the "ZH" and "DX" needles, I have a set of each?
On the "E" model, I have fuel leaking from one of the metering jets. The wetness starts above the mixture adjustment nut and below the jet locking nut. I had the chamber/piston/needle assembly off and noticed the fuel level in the metering jet orifice was all the way to the top. I don't know if it is related to the fuel leak, but if anyone has any experience with this problem I would appreciate some guidance.
Sorry to have so many questions at once, but it seems the more I work on these carbs the more comes up, funny how that works. I actually have more questions, but that's for later. Thanks in advance.
