Speaking of Rear Ends, Inga's got a leak 200 1986

Since the topic of rear ends came up,

There seems to be a leak (slow) from the front of the differental where the drive shaft connects on my 86 245 DL (AKA Inga). Checked the oil level and added just a touch the other day. Noticed it at the tire store when she was getting a tire rotation. Looks like a fairly new leak, based this observation on the fact that there was not any build up of dirt.

How hard is it change that seal and any tricks or treats to make use of or watch out for? Maybe a good time to change or check other things?

Thanks in advance for any contructive inputs and tips.

Regards,

PT
