740 fuel pump 700

My brothers 92 740 won't start. After some troubleshooting I beleive its the pump. I found it after removing the plate in the trunk. Wanted to unplug it to see if its getting a signal, but I can't seem to find a connection that I can remove. Is the pump on that car in the tank or is there another one? Is there any where else that I can tap into to see if the pump is getting voltage?
