The Volvo dealer has two different OEM-Volvo radiators listed in their system for my 240. One costs $210, the other $430 (both are for manual transmission cars and have no inbuilt trans cooler). The parts guy doesn't know what the difference between the two is. Could the more expensive one be a "hot climate" OEM radiator that has more rows of tubes? Which should I get? Also, does Volvo use Nissens or Blackstone as the OEM maker nowadays?
Also, an update. The guy at NAPA looked at the radiator (in the car, without the fan shroud), saw that it was in fact leaking, pressure tested the system, saw that it seeped some more, and offered me my money back recommending that I get a new radiator of different brand elsewhere.
Cheers,
-b.
