Hello all!- I just ran across the very first volvo I ever owned it is sitting in a driveway right across town. It seems that the owner parked it after he couldn't get it into reverse. The car still runs good- however- the shifter is very very sloppy- there is no resistance between gears- mind you there is no grinding at all- but its almost as if the linkage is broken. It is also slanted towards the driver. First gear is where reverse should be- reverse is almost on a 45 degree angle towards the drivers knee. You have to reach down and lift the reverse lockout with your hand to get it in gear because the ring on the top of the shifter won't lift the guard high enough. The only other problem is that the car is completely underpowered.- The boost gauge comes up to the yellow zone just as it should- but it will not go more than a 1/4 of an inch into the boost zone. The car runs well- just no power at any RPM...
Ideas?- I'm looking to build an ice racer- boost is crucial!
