940s B230FK motor upgrade with 740 turbo bits 900

Happy New Year guys, Chris from Down Under again.
I have a 1995 built 940s with the B230FK motor with its little Mitsubishi turbo.
A mate of mine found an 87 740 turbo for sale for $500. It has a larger turbo presumably a Garret.
The pipe from the turbo to the intercooler appears larger too. Obviously the plumbing will be slightly different but are these parts interchangable?
Has anyone here done this before?
There is an extra radiator next to the main radiator and I am guessing it is also for the transmission along with the with the normal section on the side of the main radiator. I am also thinking of taking that too.
It was dark at the time and wet so I didn't climb under the car for a proper look.
I was thinking of getting an external radiator for the transmission as I do travel down the odd long steep hill in the countryside every now and then and it does get extremely hot here too.
Many thanks in advance for your opinions and advice. You guys have been a real help in the past.

Cheers,

Chris
