Doing a coolant system overhaul and have run into some problems. Please help 900

Hi,
I have a 1994 940 Turbo wagon that I am doing a coolant system overhaul on. My first problem is that I cannot for the life of me get on the waterpump. I've read all of the articles in the 700/900 faqs and I have tried to pull it up with the end of a hammer. I have tried a screw driver. I cannot get the screw holes to line up properly. Anyone else have a good way to get this on. I literally spent a few hours today just trying to get it on. It shouldn't be this difficult.

My other problem is that I am trying to get out the radiator and there are two thin metal pipes that I need to disconnect. See picture:

I tried turning the nut that the red arrow is pointing to, but when I try to turn counterclockwise the whole pipe starts to turn (blue arrow). I am afraid if I continue to turn the whole pipe will snap.

Many thanks!

Laura
