Odo Gear Broke Again - Which Is Best ? 200

In June of last year I replaced my original odometer gear. Here it is but 9x months later and only about 8000 miles on it and repacement gear has broken. I got this gear from odometer parts . com . Is the original Volvo gear made by VDO better quality ? There is a guy on E Bay selling them(VDO) for pretty much same price as odometer parts gear. Which should I go with ? Or is there a 3rd or even 4th choice here ? Thanks.
