Hi Guys!
My Volvo and I need some help here.
1996 960 Volvo, 134k, all work is up-to-date, including new timing belt, plugs and a recent oil change.
3 weeks ago, the (arrow down) trans light began flashing, then stopped and hasn't come back on again. The Check Engine light came on, too. The only objective problem I've noticed, that began when my timing belt was replaced back in August, was the cooling fan starts up shortly after I begin driving and shuts itself off within a minute. Also, when I first start the car and begin driving, it seems to strain as I increase my speed, but it does fine once I'm at a higher speed.
So, I bought a OBD II scanner (UIFTECH U381 scanner) and got one error code, P0705 - Generic Trans Range Sensor Circuit Malfuntion (PRNDL Input). I searched this site and google and was lead to posts about the PNP. I printed off the FAQs and followed the PNP Diagnosis and was able to shift out of Park with no problems.
Any ideas??
What do I do next? No, I'm not mechanically inclinded (thou I might be able to learn), and I don't want to take the car to the dealer (the only people in this area who service Volvos)just yet.
Thanks for any and all advice!!
