Previous owner had a AMM put in this car about a year and a half ago which seems to be going bad. Judging by the price looks like it was a remanufactured unit. The air box is perm open being in California coast it doesn't get very cold, so it is not the Air box thermo "burning" it out prematurely. Recently the car has started to surge quite a bit. I cleaned the contacts on the AMM with sand paper as best I could and cleaned the AMM with CRC Air Mass Sensor Cleaner and the car ran like a dream for about a week. It is now starting to surge again. Should I assume that the AMM has gone bad, is there a way to test it? Could it be the wiring/connector?
A new Bosch unit through FCP Groton is about 250 smackaroos so any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
