700 series rear end data requested

So, after going to all of the trouble of researching putting '86 Jeep Dana 44, '86 Jag irs, '96 Vette irs, and Mustang SVT irs under my 1800, I think that at this instant, I won't be putting in that V8 and keeping my B30 drivetrain and maybe just turbo charging it later. All other options are too costly at this time.

The thing now goes 120 mph @ 5000 rpm in 4th gear with a 3.31:1 ratio 1031 rear end out of the 164 and is a dog for acceleration. It has O.D. so I am wondering if I should look for a used 1031 rear end with a 3.91:1 ratio out of a turbo 740 that will give me a theoretical 120 mph (fast enough for me) @ the 6000 rpm redline with better acceleration.

Does anybody know what years 740 turbos I should be looking at and if this rear end is the 56" width of the 164's as I have heard?

I have found, (but haven't looked at) an '86 760 turbo automatic with 230,000 miles for $1300 (100 miles away) which is in tough shape and if I can get it for much, much less, will this work? Limited slip diff? This would get me started at putting in the turbo although I don't know where it will fit, maybe out back in place of my mufflers.

Does it have to be a turbo car? It seems that this would be the easiest way of changing gears than buying a new LSD carrier and ring & pinion? Probably a rear brake caliper issue? I guess I could put the LSD carrier into my 164 rear end with new R&P and the cost of setting up the diff, but without the effort of building new clamp-on suspension brackets to fit my 1800.

Would a non turbo car's rear end have these parts?

Sorry for all the questions. James
