Me thinks my rear muffler will need replacing. The rest of the plumbing - except the clamps - are in decent shape. Is it smart to keep the existing pipes and only replace the muffler? They are OEM pipes and should have some life left in them.
It looks like OEM or Bosal exhaust parts are the best. I've found plenty of sites that sell the Starla parts, but hardly any for Bosal parts that fit my 1984 240. Where do you guys buy Bosal parts from?
I can buy the OEM part from my local dealer, but if I install it myself, does that invalidate the lifetime warranty? (I can't find the paperwork from the muffler's installation whenever that was, so I can't claim the warranty on the current one.) My dealer hasn't treated me well in the past and I'm reluctant to give them money for labor that I could do myself.
