Rear boot light 200

Today I foolishly shorted the wires of rear dome light .I think I probably smelled burned insulation .I have 1990 wagon .This light is in rear on ceiling .I think it is called boot light . The fuse 8 is good ,other main dome light is working .Bulb is OK . I think it is green wire which is the culprit. I was thinking that fuse will blow away . Is it the wire which got fused ? Is this wire directly linked to fuse box. Please give some suggestions.
