Hello,
The volvo enthusiast I bought my '71 1800e from a few years ago swore by 15w50 Mobil 1. Sicne then, that's what I use exclusively.
I have used the search feature and seen a few different opinions for oil in the B20. I THINK the car is making a bit of lifter/ valve noise (its always been there). When it comes to running synthetic in the rest of the engine, I'm very reluctant to pour in any "top" oil because I don't want to cause any conflicts in the viscosity/ chemical properties of what's there. The car had a 3-angle valve job before I bought it so not sure if that changes the sound, too.
So... what's the best oil for an injected B20? Should I even worry about top oil?
Incidentally, it's not burning any oil.
Also, running regular 10w30 in the m41 transmission. It was also recommended by the previous owner. Suggestions there?
