Removing lower windshield strip on a Turbo 700

Just at the base of my windshield the strip molding has cracked from time. I was at a boneyard this weekend and there was a turbo just like mine with the same strip in excellent shape. I could not figure out to dismantle it, and feared it may be brittle so I didn't want to experiment. Anyone know how to remove it without breaking it to shreds? On non-turbo vehicles they appear to be aluminm, but this one (and my current one) appear to be made of a black plastic-type compound. Thanks!
