740 Automatic wont shift out of Park 700

I replaced a power steering pump and when I was done the car wouldn't start and I can't get the tranny out of park. The starting issue I have nailed down to a bad coil or rpm sensor but I can't figure out why I can't get it out of park? Does it need to be running? The fuse is fine. I rocked the car back and forth to relieve any pressure but nada? ANy help out there?
