Will a 760T idle valve work in a 240?

Is the idle valve out of a 88 760 turbo w/lh2.2 compatible with a 1987 240 w/lh2.2? The 760 idle valve part no. is 0 280 140 520. The one in the 240 has a different part no. I installed this idle valve in the 240 and it seems to work, but is it a bad idea?
