The legend of the 100,000 mile timing belt. 900

My recently purchased '95 945T (152K) has a 100,000 mile timing belt interval per the book. Is this still valid? The belt on the car now looks fairly new and has rounded teeth, but it's almost 1/4" narrower than the pulleys. It is Volvo P/N 3507704. My '94 940T's "100K" belt failed at 99K!
