1996 960 keyless entry receiver 900 1997

Well, the 740 is on its way to Valhalla. I got a '97 960 as a replacement and am busy shaking it down. I was looking for the keyless entry receiver under the driver side dash but didn't see anything that fit the descriptions I've read here. Did Volvo move the receiver in the '97 model year? I just looked behind the main plastic panel on the drivers side. It was late and dark so maybe I missed it. I'm basically trying to fine out if it is equipped with OEM remote entry. There were no key fob transmitters and the guy I bought it from was clueless. If it has the receiver, I'll pursue some transmitters. Otherwise, I'll probably stick with the tried and true key method.
