Hi everyone its been a while since ive posted here, but i have an oil burning problem on my rebuilt B21FT. The car blows blue smoke on decel/compression braking and sometimes on start up. Note: both problems only occur(as far as i know) when the car is hot and has been driven for a while. I also notice my oil needs to be changed quite often or else the smoking gets worse.


Everything on the engine is new/rebuilt except for the oil cooler, turbo(300,000+ oil cooled) and pcv system(i flushed thoroughly before reinstalling).


I would think valve seals but it seems weird that after a rebuild they would leak- the head did sit in a plastic bag for a couple months after being rebuilt.

Also I did a compression check and the results were ok and were exactly the same across the board. the plugs also dont seem to show any sign of oil burning.

Anyone have any ideas.
