Does it matter if the O2 sensor goes into the header pipe or catalytic converter? 200 1990

1990 244 DL

I've found the need to pull the exhaust from Paul and put it into Junior. The '86 had no O2 sensor in the either the header pipe or the catalytic converter, but has a hole for one in the header pipe. Junior's O2 sensor is in the front-most part of the cat. Is there any problem moving it up to the header pipe?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can get Junior on the road!
