Replacing transmission cooler lines 200

I read in another thread that someone suggested replacing the metal transmission cooler lines with rubber transmission cooler hose (not fuel line) that could be picked up from the auto parts store. Has anyone done this? I am particularly curious about how you attach the hose to the fittings on either end. I haven't taken these off before, so I don't know if the ends are flared, or how the originals are connected....

(Gotta start bringing my spare Bentley's to work, when I think of this stuff....)
