homeless wire in '83 turbo harness 200 1983

well it's back to getting this turbo together and i've come upon a bit of a snag. i got ahold of a replacement engine wiring harness and have got it 99% installed. however, I have a wire left over and havent found it's home yet. The bentley has nothing specifically for the turbo in it's wiring diagrams and it isnt telling me what i need to know. the wire is a grayish color (could've been white maybe one day, but looks gray to me. Just one plug with a female spade type connector.
What I have connected: Warm up regulator, cold start injector, throttle switch, temp sensor, idle control unit, coil, starter, knock sensor (at the rear of the head..i think thats what it is), grounds, and then of course the long part of the harness going down to the alternator.
what seems to be missing here that i've overlooked??
oh, also, when looking at the starter straight on, which wire goes on which side? I have brown wires and blue and yellow wires both needing a starter terminal and i'm a moron and didnt mark those when taking it apart.

thanks again guys
