Wanting info of late motel wagons

Hu.
I am bran new at this site, and this is my first post. I have been a Saab driver ( go easy on me!) since 1987 currently driving a 1986 900 plain jane model. After all these years, I need more room so looking at the volvo wagons. I do notknow anything about the volvo's. Are there any good sites out there that tell me more about the 240? Is a 740 a better wagon?. I use my vehicles hard, here on the farm. Hauling, pulling trailers etc. I have hauled loose cement in the back, baby calfs in the back, firewood, bricks. Easily 500# of stuff. I use 185sr15 tires from old Triumps that are 2 inches taller, giving me more ground clearance ( Yes I do also have a Range Rover!) I can haul 240# on the roof racks and have come out of the building store loaded to the max. I was featured in a monthly saab magazine as "hard use, high milage driver. I had a 1984 with a roof rack full of hay bales, pulling a trailer full of hay, going up a hill with front chains on. Knowing that I need an opinion on what model and year volvo wagon I should look for. simple,no air bag or electronics, manual trans? dependable etc. I want to rebuild one like new, and keep it. I am open to all opinions and thoughts. thanks,
Heavyhorseman ( I have raised Clydesdales for 28 yrs--but do not use my saab to haul them)
