I am looking at buying a 1988 740 Turbo in pretty good shape and about 182,000 miles. The person selling said that it starts when he adds starting fluid, but then it cuts off. He suspects the problem being the fuel pump. Can anybody offer any suggestions? How much is a fuel pump, and is it easy to install? I have changed one on an American car, but I am unfamiliar with Volvo's. This would be my first Volvo.
