Contol arm bushing 200 1989

I removed my control arm and brought to shop to replace front bushing. Bushing was shot. I am having trouble getting the arm back into place. It ia almost as though the bushing is a little to long for the space on the frame. I noticed on the old bushing it seemed as though it had been ground down a little to fit.
Anyone have this problem?
