I feel silly after having let this problem go for so long.
Driver's side door has been more difficult than other doors for a while now to close and open. I had to slam it shut harder than the other doors. And when I opened it, I squeezed the handle and it would make a large clunk and pop open.
Turns out a little rubber stopper in the hinge mechanism of the door had a piece of it's lip lift up and by doing so increased the thickness of the amount of rubber stopping the door. I cut off the flap and put the stopper back in. Now the door opens and closes just like all the other 740's that I love because of how their doors work :)
Now, to get that silly trip meter rubber out from behind my instrument clusters clear plastic cover.
