Aluminum rear hatch on 245? 200

Was an aluminum rear hatch available on the 245? It seems that I recall hearing about this somewhere. My 1993 245 has a steel rear hatch, so if the aluminum hatch was available at one time, it must was discontinued by 93. Anyone here have any information about this possibility? Thanks.
