I haven't had the front wipers working intermittently for a long time now. I finally located a replacement relay from the same year and model 240 ('92 wagon). I replaced said relay, and still no intermittent wipers. Is there anything else I can do?

Other than this the wipers work fine. When the stalk is pushed up into the intermittent position, they may work intermittently for one or two strokes and then they just keep going as if in the regular position. Also, when left on in the low or high speed regular position for a long time, sometimes they just keep going even when the stalk is placed to the "off" position. Is there something else I can do to get this working again? The replacement relay was from a junkyard, but the car was low mileage and an insurance write-off, and hadn't been in the yard for long. There's no evidence of water damage/leakage either on the inside of the relay or under the carpet where it's located.
