This car is a '83 240 turbo. It runs great except for this nagging idle problem and gas mileage around 18 mpg or so. Basic symptom is a hunt for idle on a cold start that lasts for about a minute or so. Once it hits the target, the idle is at a hair above 1000 rpm and stays there until the car goes cold again. I've been wrestling with this all winter and have covered things like vacuum hoses and in-line vacuum check valves (replaced all) and basic tune-up. The car runs much better as a result, but the basic issue of the idle remains. The idle control valve and control pressure regulator were replaced about 2 years ago. In case, it is relevant, I'm in the Pacific Northwest with winter temperature in the 30's and 40's. The problem appeared when temperatures started dropping late fall/early winter. I checked the archives and found only a few posts specifically for the B21FT engine, so thought I would post this to see if other suggestions come to mind. Thanks for your help!
