Towing boat with my 740 gle wagon??? 700

Hi All,
I've got a 1990 740 GLE wagon with 190,000 miles on it. The car runs well and the only real problems are some annoying cosmetic issues. I'm considering getting a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat with a ten HP outboard engine on it. I have a friend who is much more of a mechanic that I who seems to think he wouldn't sugggest starting to haul a boat with a car of this vintage and mileage. I haven't checked out the "rated towing capacity" but I feel sure it must be rated to haul a small boat of this sort.

I live in Wisconsin and would only be towing the boat perhaps 15-20 times annually and almost exclusively on local lakes. I do need to get a trailer hitch installed. Any thoughts on wether considering this is a wise move? Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.
