As I travel over bumps, especially when turning, I have a nasty, jarring clunk in the front driver's wheel area. It isn't a sloppy clunk - just one concise sound with no reverberations. I hear it starting at 5 mph (turning out of a gravel driveway).
The ball joint has no noticeable play.
For the struts, I have the gland nuts as tight as I can get them, the top nuts likewise.
I double-checked the crossmember bolts, and I had previously retorqued the a-arm and bushing mount bolts.
Any suggestions as to what else I need to check would be greatly appreciated!
I think I can, I think I can, I think I can get Junior on the road! I'm so close!
