Some time last summer I posted about my experience and disappointment with the dealer that fixed my CE light.
The AutoZone scan said it was a "Malfunction in the Evaporative Emissions System". There was no change in car or engine function, so I let it ride a while.
Then the Emission Test sticker expired, and we had to get it fixed. For this I trusted the dealer (Volvo of Houston, no discount for VCOA members) to make repairs.
The deal was, pay $100 for diagnosis, and if they repair the problem the $100 will be included in the total price. That happened, the total cost was $258.
So we hot-footed it to the emissions test place, and got the new sticker OK.
The next day the CE light came back on and the AutoZone free scan said the same thing. That's when I did my rather anti-dealer post. August 2006.
Well, the wife and main driver finally got fed up with it and took the car in today en route to her workplace.
We beat the dealer! The part they put in was bad! Free Free Free!
The moral of this story is - haven't found one yet unless it is listen to the wife.
Regards,
Bob
