Anything other than power stage or Hall sensor cause this. Died twice, tach began swinging wildly, tried to rev up but tach went zero, restarted before light changed, died again after about 1 mile, restarted drove it home with no further incidents. BTW it did do a few backfires or popping sounds.
I think I can eliminate RSR and AMM because they would not affect tach pulsing when trying to start? Is that correct?
Harness was replaced a couple years ago but power stage and coil have about 300,000 mi. Cap,plug wires and rotor are a few months old. Swapped in a used distributor this AM (it has a "newer" Hall sensor)
I have been pouring over the FAQ's but being an intermitant failure is tough to trouble shoot.
I drove 5 miles to work this AM with no problem.
