wiper motors compatiblity 200

The wiper motor on my 1990 245 is not working . I will check the electrical connections. but in case the motor needs to be replaced. I was wondering if the motor from a 1986 245 or a 1989 760 would be a proper substitute.
I can get one of those from wrecks in my neighbourhood. The problem is not that the magnets have become loose from the armature as the wipers one day just did not start and there has been no grinding noise. I have heard that the motors on the 240 has a different negative connection on the newer models
