Jerky Speedometer 200

While driving across country my just purchaced '92 245 at highway speeds I sometime have the speedomer jump around between 60 up to 80 and back as few times in the space of a few seconds. If the cruise control is on, it will kick off, but otherwise the engine runs fine and the drive speed is smooth and steady. The speed indication will also jump sometimes going over a bump.

Does anyone know what my trouble is and can you recommend the proper fix.

89 245 for 300K and now 93 245
