I just got a heck of a deal on an '85 244 GL with an M46 trans. It came in a deal with a '91 244 in which I bought both cars for $400. The '91 has a broken connecting rod on the #3 cylinder but is otherwise in very nice shape. The '85 hit something in the front and destroyed the driver's side bumper shock area. The box section where the bumper shock mounts is ruined. There's no other real damage, so I'd like to fix this. Would cutting a repair section from another car and having it welded in work? The car is has no body rust at all and it runs very well.
Thanks in advance.
