1983 240 sedan rear trailing arm bushings / rear axle swap ?? 200

hello everyone ... I recently got a 1983 240 sedan 5 speed (4 speed w/ overdrive ) the car has 216k on it and has quite a bit of rust etc .. :( but this car hauls for some reason seems to really have a lot of power and I really love the way it runs and even sounds kinda beefy ? not sure why but def more power than most others I have had...overdrive works flawlessly and the engine and trans really seem to perform well... little bit of a rough idle at times, but thats all... anyway, I've being doing lots of work on it, and it unfortunately needs the rear lower trailing arm bushings badly, and I know there is a special tool and Im sure its expensive to get these done ... so my question, and any advice would be appreciated, is , if I wanted to swap the entire rear axle from another car (say an automatic wagon with a 3.73 rear, (mine is a 3.31) , is that possible and would it be that huge of a job ??? I would imagine the boost from a 3.31 to a 3.73 would make a noticeable difference and Im thinking if the rear bushings need to be done anyway, maybe it would be worth it to swap out.. I actually have an 87 wagon with an automatic that I suppse could be a rear axle donor .... anyone with any experience or advice on this ???

thanks
