Looking for some sound advice about buying parts. 900

I bought a 1994 940 wagon for my wife a couple of months back and am doing the breaks. I am going to put on rotors and pads and was just deliberating over $ vs. quality when it comes to parts. Breaks are not something I want to skimp on.... however I am not long on $ right now.

Another piece to the puzzle is that my wife is waffling as to whether I can convert her into a volvo head. So I am not entirely sure how long I will have the car. Any suggestions?
