Intermittent AMM 200 1983

Beginning last week, I first noticed a slight hesitation and stumble on acceleration from a slow speed or stop, almost always while making a right turn and never while completing a left turn. Grew somewhat more frequent during the next few days. Suspected classic fuel pump/hose problem, but those were replaced 18 months ago and the gas tank was currently 3/4 full. Bypassed fuel and system relays with no change, wiggled appropriate wiring harnesses with no change, reseated AMM connector with no change. Filled fuel tank with no change. Finally subbed the spare AMM and all is fine. The old AMM looks ok, fine wire is intact. Ohmmeter readings all normal, but then again this was an intermittent condition.

I do not believe I have previously seen a report of an intermittent AMM, so I thought this was worth posting. I never seem to have simple straight forward problems.

Looks like I need a another spare -002 AMM for an '83 240. If anyone has one available please contact me at retired [at] myway.com
