'87 740 B230F w/ stumble at idle

Hi Guys,

I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with. I have an 1987 740 non-turbo with an annoying problem. Recently, once the car is warm, it starts to stumble or miss. At idle it is almost rhythmic in the since that you can count it out; example 1-2-3 stumble, 1-2-3 stumble. It is not severe enough that the engine almost quits, but it does make the engine jump and a very small pop sound at the muffler. When going down the road with my foot steady on the gas or the cruise set, you can't feel it, but as soon as you back off the gas a little, not completely, the engine bucks until you lay into it some more. So far I have done the following things to try to remedy the problem: cleaned the intake, replaced spark plugs (not wires, they are practically new), ran through a good bottle fuel injector cleaner, cleaned AMM, checked black flex hose for leaks (none found). I was going to replace the fuel filter, but I was unable to break the bolts loose...a professional will be doing this for me later in the week.

Just as a little history, I bought this car online from a guy that was selling it because he could not get it to start. I paid the guy $500 and got it started in his driveway; I just sured up the engine harness wires enough that they weren't grounding each other out. Since then I've repaired the harness, but not replaced it.

Any help you guys could give would be appreciated.
