Idle woes are gone, Gold Star for Art! 200 1986

Tip of the Hat to Art,

Yesterday posted an email over idle woes in Inga my 86 245DL. She would just up and die sitting at a light and was running really rough after my drive to work. Posted in my email that when my fuel pump switch was installed instead of the relay that the pumps made a strange sound. Art posted back that it sounded like the pick up pump in the tank. Went down to the local Euro Parts house and picked up a pump and a new sock. Took about 2 hours to changed the pump 30 min of that getting the rear cleaned out and the deck out and back in. Inga fired right up and the suddenly died, my heart dropped. But she fired right back up and after a minor idle adjustment purred like my piston slapping kitten shoud. Took her out for a good drive sat in the drive in gear while resetting the radio stations. She did not die and her idle was smooth. Igna returns to the Beltway in the morning for the daily trek to work. The wife is happy that she gets her car back.

So Art Gold Star for being dead on, in spite of my pretty bad desciption of the issue.

This weekend, Engine Harness!
