940 ambient temp guage/sensor question, install info needed. 900

hi all
i purchased the ambient temp sensor guage and sender for the 95 940 as my car didnt have one installed.
i found a two prong connector with a blank plug under the driver side near front bumper and it looks to be the connector for the temp sender.
it looks like it clips into a hole to secure the sender, it there a special hole location?
im guessing if this is the wire maybe the guage will also be plug and play at the instrument cluster.
does anyone have any experience adding this setup?
i seen many many 940s in the JY but never seen one with the ambient guage and i really wanted one.
