Good Evening Folks; The son's '88 240 wagong stil has a soft brake pedal. We have replace the master cylinder, the calipers (2) were seized, and pressure blend the system with the diagrame as shown in the Haynes manual. I think the new master cylinder needs the brake pushrod adjusted. I read that a 1-2 MM clearance is required. We unbolted the master, and were able to move it fwd about 4 or so inches for access to the domed head of the pushrod. The rod has a splined type end and the threaded domed heads is a 7MM hex. Now when I try to unscrew the dome head, it will not budge. I don't want to get too brutal with it in case I snap it off. Are they Loctited from the factory and need a little heat to break it loose, or am I just not trying hard enough?
Regards;
Mike Coleman
