Hey Brickers, I am looking at an 89 740 wagon that has been sitting in the corner of my mechanics garage. Needing a head assembly I am told. It is of the 16v variety and the guy that owns it is a dealer of sorts that has just never looked for the part. It is an immaculate and otherwise solid car. Is this engine as good as the rest of the line and where might I find a 16v head for it? And then, what is a reasonable price in its headless condition? If the car is a typical Volvo, it should be worth the trouble since the mechanic's rates are very reasonable. My siblings have had a dozen of these wagons over the years with few complaints. Some rear electrical weirdness at one point and maybe some peculiar trim problems . .fairly minor stuff. Any and all input will be appreciated.
